Welcome Message Dear Friends and Colleagues, The organizing committee would like to invite you to participate to the Third International Symposium on Loquat, from 3 to 6 May, 2010, in Antakya, Turkey by submitting an abstract of a paper or poster for presentation at the symposium... The Second International Symposium on Loquat was held in China with great success. The Third International Symposium on Loquat will be held in Turkey, which is another important producer of loquat in the world. Turkey is suited between Europe and Asia and we expect great climate during the meeting in Antakya. This event is organized by University of Mustafa Kemal and International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS). The symposium will focus on loquat research, bringing together the latest results and technologies from academic institutions, research centers, industry scientists, graduate students, and progressive growers worldwide. Oral and poster sessions as well as field tours will provide information exchange, idea synthesis and scientific dialogues. The symposium will be held in the historical city Antakya, the capital of Hatay Province. Antakya is one of the three largest cities of the Roman Empire and capital city of the east. It is the first city where Christianism is expanded besides Jerusalem. It has the second largest museum of mosaics in the world. Hatay is one of the most cosmopolitan provinces of Turkey, home to communities of various races and religions including Turks, Arabs and Armenians, Sunni and Alevi Muslims and Christians of many denominations. |
